The snooze button on your alarm….
How many times d o you hit the snooze button on your alarm in the morning? Be honest…..one, two, possibly three times? Is your alarm set to the actual time or is it fast? Come on, I said be honest!!!
Ok, mine is 15 minutes fast and I hit the snooze button one time every day except Monday and Thursdays, where, for some reason, I feel the need to hit the button two and three times. I guess I am most tired on those days.
I think the snooze button on the alarm clock is a good example of how people are dealing with the real estate market. They keep putting hitting the snooze button because they think the market is going to improve, interest rates are going to remain low and people are going to be more motivated to buy their property in a few years.
Here is the deal, no one has a crystal ball – we just don’t know, exactly. But what we do know is the Fed’s are NOT going to let the market get crazy hot like they did the last time. There WILL be an increase in interest rates, if not in the first 6 months of next year, at the end of the year. Rumor has it that we have moved from a decent into a recession to an ascent out of the recession.
Values always sells – people find value, and will pay for value. Take a look at your home and determine if it possesses value to others. Consider doing a few minor upgrades, fresh paint, fix a leaky faucet, declutter your house….these are all great ways to get the best price for your home. But most importantly, take a moment to EVALUATE the market and price your home so it is priced to sell. Anyone can slap a price on a home, but if the price is not competitive – no deal will come along.
Smart, savvy sellers know the market, just as smart, savvy buyers know the market.
